About Us - Who we are, What we do, Why we want you!
WHO WE ARE - A group of Georgia Geocaching enthusiasts from around Georgia have formed an association to encourage, publicize and support Geocaching. This club is known as the Georgia Geocachers Association, or GGA.

GGA's First CITO Event

WHAT WE DO - The GGA does many different things to promote the activity of Geocaching. At our monthly meetings we have events to teach newcomers and experienced Geocachers things like how to use a compass, how to recognize poisonous plants, safety in the woods, Leave No Trace ethics, How To Create A Cache, and much - MUCH - more!

We also use these meetings to plan other activities such as Geocaching Challenges, CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) Days, GPS clinics for places like REI Stores and more.

WHY WE WANT YOU - Our goal in the G.G.A. is to advance the activity of Geocaching through two different methods: Education, and Effort! We feel that through helping others who are interested in Geocaching to learn more about the activity, safety, experience, etc. that we will foster more fun and enjoyment for the activity in general. Also, by making an effort as a group to gain acceptance of Geocaching in all areas we will make the activity more fun for everyone. Each method feeds the other. It's a win-win philosophy! ;-)

ALL IT TAKES TO BECOME A MEMBER is to attend a monthly meeting and sign up on our Members Roster! At the meeting you can sign up for the monthly newsletter and you get Members Only section access on our discussion boards as well (see below). Come out and join us to learn more about geocaching in general, Geocaching in Georgia and the GGA!

We sell GGA branded items at our CafeShops.com site. We also have our own GGA Discussion Forums. Feel free to stop by and check this site out at http://www.ggaonline.org/groupee. Registration is required to post a message and it does allow you to take full advantage of the features of our Groupee powered discussion forums.
