I'm so excited about the canoe trip!
Husband & wife teams, Toolteam and Lil Moose & Big Bear made the run for us this past Sunday. They hid 4 caches for us and had a great time!

Remember, this is Savannah. Even in November, it is not usually cold here.
And the Ogeechee is not a mountain river, it's not icy cold like some of the water I swam in July near Hiawassee.

I hear that Bill of Toolteam somehow managed to get wet on their outing this past Sunday. He said that he estimated the water to be 68-70 degrees.

Here are some things you may need

shoes that can get wet/muddy
insect repellent
a change of clothes (we can put the clothes in my van & they will be waiting for us at the other end).

Hmmm ... this sounds like fun. Might have to break 'Pork Rind' out of storage and tag along. Have to look at the calendar - long drive.

This sounds like a Blast. Count us in for a party of 2. I have a canoe but it wont make it down there in the Jeep. I hope we can hitch a ride on a low country canoe.

Maybe you can hitch a ride with some of those Lacy's.

Well since a] I went to Savannah last year, b] it is so far, I have decided not to go this year. Instead Robert and I plan to go to SCGA November Event, because a] we have found almost as many in the the Carolina's as Georgia, b] we have never been to a SCGA meeting c] it is a lot closer than some of the GGA meeting we have been to especially this one.

Hope to be able to go to the GGA Dec Brunch.

The caches for the canoe trip have not been posted yet.

I'm so excited that there is so much positive response to the canoe trip!

I've also gotten an email from at least 2 cachers who would like to come, but are not experienced paddlers. That combined with the fact that we're running out of canoes means that we need to plan on 3 people in some of the canoes.
My husband & I are taking one of the non-paddlers and Toolteam have offered to take the other.

So, if you wanted to participate, but were not confident in your paddling skills, post here & we'll find a place for you

Go ahead and put us down for 3 canoes. We may cut it back to two. As soon as I know for certain how many we will have coming to Savannah I'll let you know. I should know for certain later this week.

Someone is more then welcome to ride or help paddle in canoe 1. I wouldnt say im an expert paddler but I have paddled on more then one occasion lol.

You can trim the Jones clan down to 2 canoes. We decided to make this a family event and will be leaving boyfriends and girlfriends behind .

If possible could you post the coordinates for the meeting place for the canoe trip. We may just drive down early Saturday morning and would like to drive directly to the meeting place.

Fate and I will need a canoe, both reasonably experienced paddlers although a might rusty, so we could also help out with the carrying of an extra person. I'm also looking forward to meeting some Spanglers, since that is our last name, too

1) The coords for BM 1 have been updated...wouldn't want you to get too early a start (lol)...

2) The Savannah-Ogeechee Canal Park (Do you mind if I Bargin? is located there) is the launch site.
