This GGA meeting is near the Silver Comet Trail. Lets see how many will ride their bicycles at least part of the way, and show up at the meeting by bicycle. I will be on mine. Fool Laugh

Seems johnnie beat me to it.
I posted a note on the cache page about caches along the trail. Anybody?

Maybe a group of us could meet before the meeting and bike a section of the trail.

Here is my note from the cache page:

quote:

I have not ridden on the Silver Comet Trail, but maybe now I have an excuse.
Some more info for those interested:
TrailExpress
PathFoundation

I remember reading about caches near the trail.
Anybody know if we can get to some by bike?
I know some locations could be near private property.

Concord Road or Mavell Road (or Dallas for johnnie!)

Mavell Road may be easier for some to get to, but Concord Road does let you possibly get two caches, though they are not easy caches. I don't think "The End of the Line" cache is quite ready to reactivate yet, but will be up soon.

Ride a bicycle? Heck! I always walk or run the SCT. Real men (and women) don't ride bikes to caches. O.K. now, sockittome! Of course, I'll drive to the meeting. With A/C. See you all there, I hope. Big Grin

I just talked to Johnnie and we plan to start at Floyd Road. We plan to start pedaling at 2:00. So if you want to ride with us, you need to get there in time to get your bike ready.

Hope to see you there.

Well I know now that I will be there to ride my bicycle to the meeting. Just found that I don't have to work.

Okay, I have all of your Geonicks committed to memory. I placed a cycling multi-cache on the Chief Ladiga Trail in Alabama (the continuation of the Silver Comet Trail when it crosses into Alabama) on April 19th and still can't get even one of those "lazy, good for nothing, red-necked Bama Boys(or Girls)" to fire up their GPSR's to go find it. (Ha, Ha!!) Maybe we need a few GEORGIA Geocacher's to show them how it is done . . . HA, HA, ha.

Great! I was only teasing, but seriously if you do get over there to do mine. George has put another one on the Chief Ladiga approximately ten miles north of mine. I may slip over that way this weekend and do George's (I am only twelve away from the 100 mark and really have the itch to get there in 10 months of hunting).

May the weather bless us all and Happy hunting.

Can anyone give me a clue what caches you are talking about on the Chief Ladiga? Like maybe a GC number or coordinates? How about a nearby beer hall? Confused

It is called "Tour of the Ladiga". It is begins just north of Anniston, Alabama. Find it by looking for caches around the Zip code 36265.

WARNING: There is an error in the clues. I pre-printed a portion of my clues and mistakenly typed W 084 (which is fine if you are in Georgia) on all of them. Unfortunately, each one should be W 085 (happens to actually be in Alabama!!!). I was planning to go tonight to replace them. Unfortunately, I came home to a busted pipe last night. I have that part of the pipe fixed. But I want to replace the rest of it before I get another pin hole leak that gives the gift of flooding. I may get over there Sunday or Monday.
