Question...

I see from the cache page that the primitive area has been reserved for cachers. Do I still need to make and pay for a reservation, or is that to be handled through a designated individual? I'd like to make all of the necessary arrangements ahead of time if possible.

Edited to add...
I looked at the map, but can't tell which area is the primitive area and how many sites are available. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The primitive campground is AKA the Pioneer Campground. The campground doesn't have numbered sites. It's a large open area and you just find a place to your liking and set up your tent & stuff. The reservation allows for up to 80 people to spend Friday and Saturday nights, so you only have to show up and pick your campsite.

You will need to pay the $3 per day parking fee if you don't have a GA State Parks pass, and maybe send a buck or to cover the reservation fee, but otherwise your expenses will be minimal.

The extra waypoint added to the cache page is exactly in the middle of the campground.

Cross posted from the cache page -

I've taken Friday off to ensure I get there well ahead of quitting time. Who else will be arriving early, and is there a check in time that we have to arrive after?

I see in the description that there's fire rings and water in the pioneer area. Are these in a common area or are they set up more like camping spots? I'm trying to work out if I should plan to bring as much disposable stuff as possible or if I can arrange to wash up my cooking and eating gear.

Not important, but do we have access to power, or should I just make sure my stuff is fully charged before I get there?

Thanks in advance,

- Mark (S-4-C)
