This is almost sounding like something my mother would have tried when I was younger in an effort to get me to clean my room...hide the coords to my allowance in my room, and I have to clean it to find them.

At the first set of coords, along with giving the coords to the cash booty, you could hide a handtruck to use to carry that sucker out with. What would an ammo can full of pennies weigh? 50
or 60 pounds? Sounds devious, though. I like it!

I think we should make an event of it....and the looser gets to carry the box to the winner's car. Or roll it...but that's what kids are for.

I'll post the coords here at least 24 hrs before I submit it to Jeremy's crew. I'm thinking of two locations. I'll make up my mind in a day or so.

Y'all have got dibs!

See ya on the hunt!

Geocaching.com won't post one time caches - so whoever finds it has to leave the empty ammocan and log book for the next finder. That means you have to stuff your pockets and backpack full, hope you don't fall in a river on the way out!

I plan on placing the cache this Sunday. I'd do it Saturday but I have the GGA brunch, an afternoon meeting, and a party that night. To get to all three, I'm gonna put about 200 miles on the car, and with Atlanta traffic, about 5 years on me!

Soon!

See ya on the hunt!

When my dad was a kid his grandfather had a bucket of pennies and everytime a grandchild visted the kid could take a hand full of pennies. It's one of dad's favorite childhood memories (did I mention he grew up to be a banker--no kidding).

DaRebel, in your last GroundSpeak post you mentioned two options (basically winner takes all or regular cache). Have you decided on which format you're going to use? Personally I'd like to see it as a regular cache but the idea of Mtn-Man throwing his back out trying lug off all those pennies also appeals to me!

Thanks for the upcoming cache!

I made the mistake of too much partying on Sat, was whipped out on Sun, and made another mistake of trying to hit the malls today. Wow, big mistake!

Anyhoo, I'll be placing the cache by the end of the week. It'll be a standard cache in that it'll be an ammo box with a log book. Difference, of course, is that if you want to place a trinket, you'll be forced to remove some pennies. When the pennies are depeleted it'll transform itself into a regular cache.

Of course, there is the risk of someone ripping off the whole box, but that's the risk we take with any cache placement.

See ya on the hunt!

Great idea, Rebel, on the "replace removed pennies with trinkets". Otherwise, this would be a one-time-cache unless somebody replaced it and/or brought a dog food bag to dump the pennies in.

One other idea for you - for every N number of pennies that are taken, make it that in addition to the trinket the finder has to add a like amount of reciprical change - I.E. - take 50 cents to leave the trinket, leave two quarters. Take out 200 pennies, leave 2 bucks or 2 wheresgeorge dollars.. Something along those lines...

Just an idea...

Might be a little hard to enforce. So, I'll just leave it up to cachers to police themselves. I thought of making it MOC, but, nah.

Soon, very soon!

Teaser!

Guess what I did today? No, not that. The "cash cache" is in place.

Popes Ferry III

The cache is inactive right now, but you can still go seek it. The coords are updated as well as the clue.

I'll activate the cache for the rest of the world tomorrow around noon.

Enjoy!

See ya on the hunt!
