That's right, Heeeeeee's Back!
After spending the better part of last and part of this year in New York, I'm home again, but I don't know for how long or where I am going to be sent next.

But

Off and on over the last year, I've been working on a wee little multistage cache up in the mountains that needs a trial run before I submit for approval.

Fair warning: It won't be a walk in the park. The volunteer will need pencil and paper and will have to cross water (either by boat or wading) and will involve some pretty tough terrain.

This cache has 6 stages all loggable independantly, but I wouldn't try to do them all in one day.

The gauntlet has been thrown down.....any takers? Up To No Good

When I read the part about fording water I immediately thought about our expert at fording creeks . . . none other than Mtn-Man. If you have read his log on the North DeKalb cache you too would agree that we ought to let him first crack at it. He, he, ha, ha.

Actually I did think about Mtn-man but for a diff reason. But I didn't want to pressure anyone, and Johnnie was gracious enough to volunteer. Of course no one says that there has to be only one volunteer.

Many thanks to Johnnie and Allen (apparently Johnnie called in reinforcements) for beta testing this one. It's almost ready. There are a few minor glitches to iron out and then Starhopping will be posted. Prelimenary feedback indicates that there might even be a pot of gold at the end of the hunt for some lucky and dedicated seeker. Thumbs Up

Left Johnnie and email a while back checking up on him since we haven't seen him much in the cache field, he mentioned he was testing this one and it was going to be a humdinger. Sounds as if I need to stop in at a Boy Scout place and read up on some older pre-GPS methods of navigation!!
Ahead of time, thank you for making each stage an independent, logable hunt and not a multi-run! Can't wait to see how this one goes down, especially the last one. Can you share anymore info yet? Are all stages going to be listed at one time or incrementally?

Yes, Johnnie and Allen have been helping me do the test run and get the kinks out.
I plan to list only stage one of this multistage, but you will be able to log it repeatedly as you hit each stage. In each stage is a special secret code that lets us know you were really there (sort of the way the virtual caches work).

I need to visit two stages to make some typo corrections on Saturday, then it will be ready. All that will be left is the writeup and approval.

Well, really I'm looking forward to seeing who's the first finder on this one. I won't have the time to go after it for quite a while. Several names come to mind immediately, but I'm really curious to see who'll complete this one first.

Best of luck to all,

S-4-C

Turns out yoyo hit the first stage within 18 hours of the cache being approved. Impressive!

And with the addition of the Moolah cache, I guess this makes the set a "compound" cache.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Trez. I'll be happy just to get through the Starhopping Multi without having to take out a mortgage to pay for gas. Big Grin

Evil King Johnnie is a crafty, ole devil. I'm sure he's going to make me and whoever else hunts Moolah work HARD and I do mean HARD before we see any of that payola. I have a feeling I'm going to be putting more money into finding the cache than I'll ever take out, that is IF I even find it.

I feel I'll probably be using the following icons when posting about Moolah:

Flaming Mad Aw Nuts! cursing Peeved Confused Crying

I know your pain.
I took my crusier out on the Lake to do a couple of caches and the beast burns 12 gallons per hour at 2.00 per gallon. Cost 90.00 bucks to cache 3 caches. That's $30 each. Expensive for McD's toys.

Yes I know you do not feel sorry for me. Laughing

Well Johnnie and I found Stage three and we had only the wrong coordinates. And I should mention that it was Johnnie that realized they were wrong and what correct ones had to be.

Edited to keep information from the spys. Geo-Agent

yea, Johnnie and Allen clued me into the wrong coordinate issue, and I did make the correction. Thinking back, I recall what happened.

I went to the second stage and took the erroneous sheet out of the cache and put it in my pack for disposal, but some very attractive young ladies were walking on the trail and I paused to contmeplate some heavenly bodies. Then when I went to put the corrected sheet back in the cache, I must have reached in the pack and pulled the erroneoush sheet back out and put it back in the cache. I say this because I checked my pack, and sure enough there is the corrected sheet.

All I can say is: "oops"
