OK Gang!!

Need something to do before the GGA meeting Saturday? Question

Well ol' D-man has been busy, busy today!! Wink

Already approved earlier this week:
The Marshall - GCNVZK

And a "bunch" more have been submitted for approval just this evening!!
•100 Dollars Cache - GCMJ8X
•Big Blue Gear - GCN7JC
•Borderline - GCNWDF
•Eve's Revenge - GCN7J8
•Going, Going, Gone!! - GCN7HX
•It's All Smiles! - GCMJWJ (Theme Cache! All Smilies Smile Stuff)
•Play Ball - Alto - GCNWDC
•Possum Trot - GCNWMA
•Temptation - GCMJXB
•Tony's Play Place - GCNVZK

Plus a Puzzle cache called "Shield's Up!!" to be submitted for approval tomorrow(5/13/05) (after I get better GPS reception in the morning to make sure my coords are correct)

If your familiar with the puzzle pieces, you should have no problem solving it. If not, it'd be a good time to team up on it!
(Or you could always come back to Rome, later. You'd be more than Welcome!!)

GPS was reading about "45-60ft off" consistantly this afternoon and evening while out placing the caches with only 6 sats showing. And since I been re-checking the coords for most all of these above for a few weeks now, I know they were dead-on at previous times with 8 or more sats showing. Mornings are usually dead-on for my SportTrak.

Besides mine, we also have a few new ones that have been approved around here in the past couple of weeks.
•"Forget-Me-Not" by Dr_GloPos & Strictlycache (Members Only Cache)

•Here and There in Floyd A nice multi tour of Rome& Floyd County by ReynoldsGang (Hopefully finishing this one myself on Saturday)

•The Red BarronA good puzzle cache that'll have you flying! You'll need to do a little homework on before you leave though. - by Dr_GloPos & Strictlycache

•Brushy BranchFor a quick grab if going to or from Rome by Highway 100 to/from the Meeting Site - by ReynoldsGang

And the one that's a headache for me right now Shrug,
•CROSSWORDA Puzzle Cache -by Dr_GloPos & Strictlycache
Hope one of you guys can figure this one out and show me that it can be done and that these guys aren't just messing with my head. I've spent untold hours staring at this one and have yet to figure it out!! Roll Eyes

Looking foward to having everyone coming into the area.
Hopefully all my submitted caches will be waiting on you guys to find and you'll be thanking me for the fun at the meeting.
Instead of throwing me in the COLD water or locking me in the cave!! Laughing

Have a safe trip here!!

D-man Cool

Well D-man, it's funny how our minds work the same Smile I decided Cartersville needed a few new ones, too - what with alot of the GGA members traveling through on the way to and from the meeting and with Team Happyspider's Farewell that evening.

Look for:
Where's George? At the Pumphouse!
God, Guns and Gut's under the Gold Dome
Slow Down!!! (TB Depot)
Tales of the Seven Legged Spider (part 1)
Target in Sight!!!
Belk it out!!!
Elk Fishing
Let My Sturgeon Go!!!
Ultralight is right!
Calling Phoenix Air: Your Engines are too Loud!!!
Von Ryan's Express
Have a Coke and a Smilie!

Hopefully fun for all Smile

I saw only 3 go live today. Will these all be online before most of us leave to go caching in the morning?

Hey Gridlox, what's with all the DNFs on your latest micros? Are the coords really off or were the caches just not placed at the time the listings went live?

Confused Confused

I dunno?

I've been working on setting them up for a couple of weeks now.
Other than one last minute addition, I have been getting within 5-10ft with my GPS whenever I have checked back on the coordinates.

UNTIL YESTERDAY!!(Thursday) When I went out and started placing the caches, the GPS was consistantly 40-50ft off on all of them.
Since I had on numerous times over the past week been able to walk right to the cache sites, I didn't feel I needed to adjust them.
Sats were stacked toward the West & N-West, so I was thinking that might have had something to do with the off readings.

A few of them are cleverly hid, so I may have the difficulty a little low.

I added Possum Trot at the last minute, just because it is such a nice spot on the Berry College campus. I only double checked the coords when I hid the cache. Since it was reading off about the same amount as all the rest, I figured it was good to go also.

Just trying to make some fun for you guys, so I hope you don't end up having a bad day of hunts if you go for mine. And want to chunk me in the cold water in Cave Spring.

Guess that's what I get for trying to place them all at the last minute, huh?
n00b error, on my part huh? Aw Nuts!

Ummm... 2:55AM!! See you guys in a few hours!! Laughing Hopefully happy! Aw Nuts!

Oh well, we'll give one a whirl and if the coords don't pan out, we'll save the others with DNF logs for another cache outing. Thanks!
