Poochie's Prize
by The Yoyo Man & JP-Magician

N 34° 47.687 W 083° 47.105 (WGS84)

In Georgia, United States - Union County
Hidden: 7/30/2003
Use waypoint: GCGJBC

Difficulty: **1/2 Terrain: ****1/2

This cache was placed in celebration of my Aunt Poochie's birthday (July 30). I had found this location after doing the nearby GC875 - Headwaters of the Chattahoochee River cache (near Horse Trough Falls). JP-Magician and I decided on the final hiding spot while we (Poochie, Packer, JP-Magician, & myself) were enjoying a family camping trip and celebrating Poochie's Birthday.

I would describe the Terrain as VERY challenging and the Difficulty as moderate to challenging. POOR satellite reception definitely raises the Difficulty rating for this hunt. The GPS indicated a high EPE (35ft.) while I was averaging the coordinates.

After finding the cache you might enjoy cooling your heels at a small waterfall not far from the cache (N34 47.699 W83 47.160). If you don't mind COLD water, take some swimming trunks along and enjoy a refreshing dip. ENJOY! Big Grin

35feet...high EPE?
My Maggie normally is between 25-35 feet EPE.
On good days, I get down to 13-20.

I guess it's all relative. I've always been able to get a lower EPE when getting the coordinates for a cache. This just seemed high compared to my past experiences. Again, this is what I was able to get AT the cache location. The satellite reception on the way to the cache is very sporadic.

I look forward to reading the logs for this cache. I'm sure there will be some interesting & entertaining stories.

Have Fun & Be Safe!

Well, you guys just let it sit there too long. Although I was the second log, I was the 'official' FTF.
My GPS was virtually useless up there today. Could not get more than 2 sats to lock for more than 2 minutes at a time, as soon as I left the parking lot. I just kept turning it on/off in clearings and did a LOT of searching Confused/climbing Disgust/falling Crying.
Also stopped by Headwaters to pick up a TB that had been there for a few months, and GPS wouldn't lock there either.
Felt lucky to find this one. I don't think it is in the original location and have emailed findings to YoYo.
As I posted in my log - I'd trade just one these caches for 10 Atlanta drivebys.
This is what I call caching.
