Just submitted this for approval. Finding the cache will require solving a problem in celestial navigation, so bone up on the subject if you want that FTF.

Cache is located in south Forsyth county.

You have to mean now approved.

I should have a chance in the next couple of weeks to see if my calculations are correct.

Verrrry interesting. KVOM seems to have beaten me to the draw on this one. It seems very similar to what I had in mind for starhopping 3. Now I just need the time and excuse to go down there again.

A geocacher's nighmare: able to find hundreds of hidden boxes all over the world, yet can only find one sock when unloading the clothes dryer.

Already giving hints oh well at least I am sure I solved it without hints.

Congrats to Owl1959 as being first finder.

As promised I have posted some encrypted hints on the necessary techniques. Don't decryt these "spoiler" logs if you want to do it on your own.

The solution should be totally unambiguous if solved correctly, with or without help from the hints.

I would enjoy feedback from people as to whether they enjoy this type of puzzle.

You know it is amazing the free programs you can find on the Internet. It also amazing how many free programs will give wrong answers and force you to do the math yourself.

This is WAY-so-not-related-to-topic, and I apologize in advance; I keep forgetting to bring this up when appropriate.

Allen, I love the fact that your avatar changes colors based on the time of day... but you might want to think on freezing it on it's night time black/grey with white lettering. Much easier to read. While I'm a UK fan (in addition to TAMU), the white/blue is harder to read. Just a thought.

I find it interesting the people are having trouble figuring out the name of the object the sighting was taking from. That is easy if you know how to use information from the "Geographic Names Information System"

I assumed that once the coords were known, entering them into TopoZone would be an obvious way to get a map, and the name is clearly indicated there.

I use Streets & Trips 2004 for looking where co-ordinates are located. Topozone is very old and does not give street names and other information
