On our way to FL I found a couple in the far SE of the state (Waycross, St. Marys). I doubt I'll ever get them all, but it's an interesting challenge.

FWIW I got one on page 70 in the dark this evening, hope to log one on page 62 tomorrow morning, then maybe a few more pages on my way back home to Suwanee from a week in Florida.

Way to go Linda & Doug. Linda, I enjoyed hearing a little of your final journey miles at the meeting Saturday.

I wonder if there is a neat Geocoin commemorating this fine Georgia achievement yet.

Don't say you can't, say you'll try.

Congrats Doug and Linda on completing the Challenge!!! I'm jealous as all get out - maybe if I get a couple of weeks work in Georgia I'll be able to finish Smile

Well this thread needs a HUGE bump!!!
I moved away from GA back in late 2007 never to thought to be back 2 months later but I forgot all about this cache. I decided to do the GA County Challenge so I'm incorporating the 2 caches as I travel the state.
But before I left, I had 7 pages and that's where I stand at the moment. Looks like Labor Day weekend I will resurrect my GA Delorme Challenge and officially start my County Challenge even though I could backlog 27 of those counties.
Congrats on those who have found this challenge so far and maybe we will cross paths on the trail.

Have that on the list as well. Doing 3 challenges at once. The one in the Okefenokie swamp that requires a canoe might have to wait.
Thanks for the link and reminder to download Virts for Labor day weekend-)

Happy New Year!!!!

Thanks to Google Earth I won't be able to finish this challenge.
You use to be able to make a PQ of your bookmark list, unzip it and drop the .gpx file into GE and it showed you ALL the waypoints on your GA map. All you had to do was look at your Delorme squares and make sure you had a cache in each.
Now GE only shows 2 waypoints and you have to click each one of the rest to show a pointer on the map and it disappears as you click each one. Very hard to do with 20+ waypoints especially when they are all listed on 'places' list but wont show up on the map.
Anyone know what is wrong? I've tried 2 pc's, GE ver 4 and 5, and WIN XP, Vista and Linux(ubuntu 9) and all are the same. Did Groundspeak change the way the .gpx exports?

Hopefully I can get this figured out today. I am headed down to SE GA in the morning to do the GA County challenge and get my Delorme pages.

Any help would be appreciated.

One thing I have noticed on GE is that there is a date slider bar that will have a very narrow window when you drop a GPX file onto the map. You have to expand this slider bar out to the entire time period to show all of the caches. The caches show by the date they were published to the site. I'll try this when I get home and see if that is still the case.

Someone at Groundspeak suggested that as well as under View(or edit) to check the show historical and it worked. Now I have to learn how to tell GE how to save my .gpx file instead of importing it each time. I think I have to drag the file out of temporary places then it will be fine.

I did complete pages 51, 60, 68, 61, 70, 71, 63, 62 and 53 this weekend as well as a host of counties
