Before I go through with this, I thought I would check the interest level. Sep 16th is a dog's day afternoon. Really, pet stores and kennels are sponsoring events all over the metro area. PetCo on MT Zion in Morrow, GA is sponsoring a number of events for you and your pets between 1-3PM.
Millie goes with us on almost all our searchs and there is a merit badge for dogs involved in Geocaching. Check in if you are interested and I will arrange something.

Dogapotamus and JavaDog (The Insane Sisters) have their spa day on the 16th. Darn! Or we sure would be up for it.

As a cat owner I have to remind you that the geocaching.com guidelines for events say,
quote:
Event caches are gatherings that are open to all geocachers and which are organized by geocachers. While a music concert, a garage sale, a ham radio field day or town’s fireworks display might be of interest to a large percentage of geocachers, such events are not suitable for submission as event caches because the organizers and the primary attendees are not geocachers.

So you are certainly welcome to submit your event cache for dogs, but you can't piggy-back onto an existing event. The other snag is the guidelines say event caches have to be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Rules for cat events are slightly more lenient. Wink
I'm just kidding! Don't hit me! Frown

I don't want to throw cold water on a great idea, but did want to give a reminder of the geocaching guidelines before too much time is spent on setting up an event.
