Geocacher

Seems as if this is a touchy subject to say the least... I'm somewhat inclined to say that if the owner is more or less MIA then maybe it should be archived... but that would be a great loss for the GC community as Virts are no longer 'in our system' so to say... If the cache owner approved the find... (after all the finder was at GZ during the fair and at the right place...) then maybe all could be forgiven... It seems to me that there are several 'conditions' for approval that are NOT under the control of the owner... too bad the Scouts were a no-show... kinda have to feel for the finder for the effort involved... I don't know the whole story but would love to hear all the particulars someday...
More chiggars please!

quote: Originally posted by doctor mole: phat.bak, I guess you're technically right but I did email back & forth with the owner and he gave the thumbs-up on counting the find. He had had the cache set to inactive when I first contacted him. Since the fair was going on and I knew I was headed out there I asked that he activate it. Looks like maybe he ought to deactivate it till the fair is back, or change the requirements. And if he had had a problem with my logging a legitimate find I would have understood & accepted it - if there are requirements then you ought to meet them before taking the find!
Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to taint your find. Since you emailed back and forth, and the owner gave you the thumbs up - its a legit find. I agree that the owner should relax the requirements on the cache page.
