ONE LAST REMINDER ABOUT THE CHALLENGE EVENT

With an absolutely beautiful weather forecast for this Saturday, there's no reason not to come to this year's Sixth Annual GGA Challenge Event 2007

The weather is not the only thing that promises to be great. Here are some additional great forecasts:

Great Folks - Geocacher's are the best.

Great Food - joebids and mtn-man performing quality control to ensure that.

Great Trails and facilities - The Dauset Trails Nature Center offers some of the best around.

Great Hides - Several folks that hid this year's challenge, earned their 'Devious Hiders' a few months back.

Great Prizes - This year we're going to need additional support structure on the prize table. See below for the Top Prize.

Great Game - The 'Poker Run' allows everyone a "Luck of the Draw" for your chances to win.

Great Fun - Tie these all together and you can't help but to have lots of fun.

Among the many great prizes, the prize table this year has been decorated with one exceptionally fine ornament.

A Garmin eTrex LegendĀ® HCx

So come on out and join the fun.

It has not been announced because plans are just now firmed up but a production crew from Georgia Public Broadcasting will be at the Challenge Event shooting material for a future Geocaching segment on "Georgia Outdoors". I don't know how they plan to set up the shooting but I would expect some of us attending will appear.

Those who were at last year's GGA Challenge may remember the camera and production crew that came out to shoot last year's event for a segment on "Georgia Outdoors". Well, it's finally here! We received this e-mail from the executive producer today:

"Hey All! The time has finally come. The Georgia Outdoors episode that you participated in will premiere tomorrow night on Georgia Public Broadcasting! Set your VCRs/Tivos and tell your mamas!

Watch Georgia Public Broadcasting on these nine stations across Georgia: Atlanta - Channel 8; Albany - WABW/14, Augusta - WCES/20, Chatsworth - WNGH/18, Columbus - WJSP/28, Dawson - WACS/25, Macon - WMUM/29, Savannah - WVAN/9, Waycross - WXGA/8.

Keely"

Got my notice a couple of days ago.
See: http://www.gpb.org/georgiaoutdoors/healthyoutdoors

Friday, October 10, 9:30 PM
Saturday, October 11, 6 PM
Tuesday, October 14, 7 PM

It finally showed up on the docket. Unfortunately the description doesn't mention Geocaching at all. The GGA website is referenced at the bottom in a section called Web resources.

We'll see tonight.

Just watched it on the teley. Saw some familiar mugs, but was nice to see Rebel doing what he loved.
All in all - we were represented well. Kudos to those that set it up.

I've got to do the Canyon Climbs.

Too bad it was only 2 1/2 minutes. Can't hardly explain with Geocaching is in that amount of time.

Yep, good to see the familar mugs...and some we'll only see again if we recorded this program.
