Rome just recently recieved a grant that could enable the creation of a broadband wireless Internet “hot zone" that covers the whole downtown business district in early 2006.

City gets grant for wireless Internet

It'll be kinda cool if this actually comes to light!! Thumbs Up

I'll keep everyone updated when it actually goes into effect!!

Just a quick note about access at the Georgia World Congress Center:

While there I tried to access a few open access points other than the one set up by GWCC, but the signals were iffy at best. However, I noticed that across from the business center there's a small booth with four terminals that are open to the public for use. Sessions are limited to 15 minutes, but that was enough time for me to get in and out to place coin orders.

It wasn't wireless, but it was free. Just thought I'd pass on the info.
