ever notice when a new cache comes online that is near you, somebody has already logged it by the time you see the listing. It happens a lot.
Here is one that is in place just waiting to be found, that I will not submit to Geocaching until
June 9th a week from now. So go after it and beat the rush.

It is a little log only mirco, in a little park.
No bushwhacking PLEASE (not necessary)

If you find it this week, you may log it online after it is approved and get your smiley.

Thanks for doing that. I have been trying to figure out how to do for awhile. Mtn-man and a few others gave great advise on doing it, but now I know how I can add for only You Guys/Gals.

I have a question that touches on this topic. If I submit a cache for approval and temporarily disable it ASAP after it is approved will the cache still be visible to other cachers? Also, will it be distributed in the Weekly Notification and the Pocket Queries? I want to submit a cache for approval and then immediately disable it after approval. I was hoping that would hide it from other cachers and when I was ready I could simply enable the cache and make it available.

One other question, is it possible to get a cache approved, but disabled initially by an admin? That way the owner can enable the cache when he/she wants.

It is possible for a cache to be disabled initailly becasue on one of my caches in the report i put a little note saying the cache would be placed the next day and erik, the approver, disabled it for me after it got approved so I could enable it after I placed the box.

Happy Hunting! Smile

Yes, this is possible. At the beginning of your cache description, type NOTE TO ADMIN: and state your request clearly.

Another thing you can do, though it's of limited value, is to temporarily disable a cache before it is approved, but right after submission.

What that does is hide it from the cache approvers. It gives you a chance to work on perfecting a cache page without fear of it being posted prematurely, as it doesn't show up on the approval queue.

You just have to be sure to re-enable it when it's ready, or you'll be left wondering why no one ever got around to approving and posting that perfect cache page of yours. Frown
