Make it stop!!! Arrrghhh the pain!!!

I couldn't even finish reading this cache.
If my Technical Writing teacher from college is dead, she'd be rolling over in her grave.

Can we get a few carriage returns?

For those who like reading such text, here is a version of my post without carriage returns:

It may not necessarily be this way on purpose.

There is a bug in the cache submission page. If you compose a page without any HTML, but just put in normal line and paragraph breaks it will look fine. However, in the course of opening and closing that page changes occur to it. At some stage HTML coding is added, and the line breaks and paragraph breaks are removed. The "HTML is used" box is not automatically checked though. If the page is again opened and closed (like to correct a typo) the HTML is stripped out and lines are jammed together.

It doesn't always happen, but if you want to experiment by creating a cache page, saving it, reopening it, etc. you may be able to duplicate this. Just don't check the "enable this cache" box or you'll confuse the cache reviewer.

In the course of approving caches it's sometimes obvious when that has happened. You'll get lines like "Cache contents:logbookpenpencil"
It's less obvious when there was never a list.

If the cache approver isn't sure, or if it's a mystery cache with some code on the page, he'll leave it alone. The cache owner can just as easily go back and fix it himself. Or he may like it this way.

It does save paper if you print it out. Wink

Erik, makes sense.

I'd email the cache owner but I'm afraid if I open that cache page again the twitching will return Wink

It brings back a painful introspection too Big Grin .....

Regardless of the formatting the cache looks to be an interesting find, although a bit out of my range for a lunchtime hunt. The final location is in an area with few other caches, so I think it will be a welcome addition for those south of Atlanta.

I'm going to wander down to the capitol at lunch today to pick up that first wpt. Smile
