I can't believe there is not any more used GPS units for sale on the forum, so I'm looking for a Garmin 60CSX. Reasonably priced or somewhere in the neighborhood!

I suspect the reason you don't see them listed in the forum is because the GGA requires attendance at a meeting to be a member. People have GPSr for sale when they are not geocachers, and not GGA members. Lots of people use GPSr for things other than geocaching, like hunting and fishing and boating and off-road biking and motocycling, etc. I have seen several listed on http://atlanta.craigslist.org/ but not the specific model you requested. I've also seen them on ebay. You might consider becoming acquainted with the staff at Bass Pro marine acccessories dept since they move a lot of GPSr and they know who has upgraded their units. Just a thought and no need to flame me for this post. "The chauffeur"

Gee,
Flame you! Never!, I appreciate your ideas,it's just that you tend to trust your fellow Geocaching community friends, when it comes to purchasing an item like this. I had considered Craig's List, not really sure about Ebay.
Thanks, PPP

I can't imagine anyone would be selling their 60CSx, unless they were upgrading to a Colorado. They're sweet units, though -- I can't blame you for wanting to buy one on the cheap!

Hold on to your 60CSx. I bought a Colorado 400t and am not pleased so far. The upgrades have helped and the maps are great but it is missing many of the features I've come to love and in my opinion, are indispensible.

I just upgraded from a CS to a CSx about 2 months ago. I found it online for $330 with a $50 dollar rebate, which made my final cost $270.

All in all the walmart deal sounds like a great price, not having to deal with the rebate and all.

GO for it. I love my CSx

I bought mine on eBay for $320 - $50 rebate; $280 with 7% tax would be $299.60, which is probably as good as you'll find for a new one, since rebate offer is finished.

Or, you could go the 599er-route and spend your REI dividend on it. Assuming you're a member and spend enough on your card during the year to get that chunk of a rebate. Smile

I wouldn't write-off Ebay just yet, since there are a couple used ones listed.

I bought my 60csx on the Walmart site. Warning if you're going to buy there - it takes a long time for them to ship it. I paid for two-day shipping, and got my GPS 9 days from when I bought it. I complained and they refunded me my shipping costs. But they took a week to locate the 60csx and ship it to me.

That said, I *love* my 60csx. It will take a whole lot for me to upgrade from this in the future.

Update on my Colorado . I complained to Garmin about all the problems I was having with the new unit even after doing all the software/firmware upgrades.
They didn't seem too willing to do anything until I happened to mention that it would sometime heat up. Immediately the guy on the phone said to put in in a padded envelope and gave me a special address. Within 4 days I had a brand new one with all the upgrades. I went out with it Friday and yesterday and it performed beautifully! I love the cache pages and hints on the screen.
I take back what I said about it before and cudos to Garmin.

Perp. what do you think made the the difference? Was it that it was heating up? Or do you think they are now pre-loading all of the upgrades and that works better?

Hey Geomuse,
I think there must be some kind of "liability" issue with the overheating problem. The guy's demeanor changed rapidly. I went out some today with it and it's really working great.
I feel Garmin is working hard on all the issues and I hope some of the 60CSx features are coming soon.
I wish I could go out with you tomorrow as I totally embrace Confederate Memorial day being born in Downtown Atlanta.
