At my recent retirement, I was given a Garmin eTrex Legend - so I guess we've come a long way since the proverbial gold watch!

Anyway, my trusty Garmin 12MAP still works fine, and I would rather get a nice hand-held marine radio. The GPS was purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods in Dayton, OH, for $169.99, and I have the gift receipt. The closest Dick's store is in Macon, but they don't carry marine radios.

I would really like to get $150 for it, but if one of you super-shoppers can show me where you can get it cheaper, I will consider matching that price.

This one is not specified to float, but I'll be glad to throw in a bobber for anyone who needs one.

If you don't get any takers, try eBaying it. If it's new in box, you should get at least that for it.

Dicks Sporting Goods purchased Galyans. That chain has stores in the Atlanta area. A conversation with the Store Manager might be worth the effort.

http://www.galyans.com/ The news is on their website.

Dicks acquired Galyan's???
I did not think they were that big. I know they are a chain across the board, but did not know they were big enogh to buy other stores. And i really dont like Dick's, because we considered it the REI or Galyans wanna-be of Macon because did have near the selection or quality stuff found at REI and Galyan's.

After visiting the local Galyans store this evening, I'm encouraged to report that they will help me work an exchange. Thanks for the suggestion, TRAM.
