This thread will be a place to tell your adventures while hunting the Convergence Cache or to ask for a cache partner to work the other leg of the cache. More info about the cache is located here.

If you are requesting a caching partner, please post which leg of the cache you are doing and which side you need another cacher to do.
As mentioned on the cache page, you should probably not place your email address or phone number in you message to prevent SPAMmers and others from soliciting you.
To contact another cacher to be a partner, please use the GGA/Geocaching profile to give phone numbers, schedule meeting times, etc.

Thanks and have a wingding of a time.

kennethpruett & Trailerman

This is Cat from Team Kimchi, over on the east side of Atlanta. This is my first post on the forum - hope I'm doing this right. I've got some time today to go for this one - any out there on the west side looking for a partner?

Wont be able to hit this one on the West side until a free weekend or weekday after work hours since it's too time consuming for a lunchtime hunt. But Cymbaline and I would like to find a partner to do the EAST leg.

Make that two partners - one for each of us, since we'll need one each to log the cache. Kimchi, how's the rest of the team looking?

I'm game, but may take me a bit with work/travel/etc.

Cat? Feel like doing the west side today?
I can do east easily, but west would be a bit of a problem as I will have Emilymaus with me.

If I don't find someone that can team up today, I'm game for another time, thanks. I sure would love a FTF AND a Jeep TB though - that would be sweet. I could even take the West side - anything to get out of the housework that I'm supposed to be doing!!

If Cymbaline wants to skip out on other caching on Sunday, that would be the soonest I could participate. I'm leaving for the meeting early (around 11) to cache with Birdies (Anna) on the ride to the "snake pit." From the description, I think that would be cutting it too close. How does Sunday 6/13 work for you?

In the FWIW department, you should plan for at least two to three hours to find the cache. Each stage is relatively easy, so that allows about 30 minutes per stage -- counting driving time.

Also, there is no reason to only have one person as partner. For example, you could have a team of two or three work the West leg and one person work the East leg. Of course, for now, you'll have to saw the Jeeps in half! Laughing

Wow! Was this a cool multi!
If anything deserves an award, this does.

Never having intentionally cached as part of a team effort, I was impressed with team kimchi's speed and accuracy. Nice people too! : )

We first contacted here on the forums and then exchanged numbers. I set out about noon, and soon had the first clue in my hand.
Then the problems began; their cell phone batteries fading rapidly, my cell phone refusing to answer incoming calls, and worst of all I seemed to have lost the first clue!(be careful how you handle it), but cache owners were notified and Kennethpruett and Trailerman came to the rescue within a very short time and fixed the clue.
Each stage was a bit trickier than the previous, and I think I had the easy side. Team Kimchi and I compared notes often with some success, but more often not.
Emilymaus and I got to the final cache site, about 15 minutes earlier than the others, scouted around a little, saw a likely spot and then adjourned to a nearby path and played jumping off the roots for a bit.
Cat,Nacnud, and Ferg(Team Kimchi) arrived soon and after introductions, they quickly found the cache in the spot I had considered likely. So the FTF is ambigious as this one should be.
We traded stuff, grabbed Jeeps, and walked back to the Blueberry.
Dropped a TB for the next to find so they won't be too dissapointed.
Got to take other cachers for a ride in my Blueberry TB! Smile
To my other team and the cache owners...
Thanks for the great hunt! Wicked cool!
out: Jeep TB,Dolphin toy
in: Freedom TB, Earrings(in a cool micro- container, mini-video game.

Anyone wanna play hookie on the "WEST" side of Atlanta this week? I live on the "EAST" side and need a west-side partner.

I can do it any day except Friday. If interested, email me at: yvettejj@bellsouth.net

Thanks,
yjjohnston

I play hookie every day unfortunitely. So I'm interested. Just have to see if my partner in crime can disappear with me for 3 hours on either wed or thurs. Keep us in mind if you have not found a west partner by then.

Well, the east leg of this cache is located near my house, so I'm more than happy to assist on this side of town. Lunchtimes and evenings are good, except Thursdays.

I'd welcome any assistance.

Thanks,

Mark (S-4-C)

I'm planning to re-visit the East section at lunchtime today for a second attempt at the replaced container. (Found the original spot, but ran out of time before I could find the replacement)

Anyone up to doing a "solution by email" partnership? It may not get done as fast, but this may work for the time-challenged like myself. Once I find the first East stage, I'll be willing to share, via email, the info with a person finding the first stage on the West side. If it works out, we may get this thing solved before the Hydro event. Smile

Input welcome,

- Mark (S-4-C)

Update: Initial East stage found, with info recorded. Gotta admit my frustration at leaving the paper at home rather than bringing it to work. Can't pass on any info until tonight now. Mad

I can be a "virtual" partner for someone hunting the East side as I hunted the West side last week (since I wrote down the information needed to crack the East side coordinates). Can't be a partner for the West side as I haven't done the East side yet. Granted you should try to partner up with someone that hasn't done the hunt as its more fun that way and you get a partner to hunt for the final stage. But it may not always be possible to find a partner that fits your schedule.

I've become an artist!

OK, not really. I got to the second stage of the East half of the hunt this evening, thanks to Snake1411's help. As I was nearing GZ, I spotted where the next stage HAD to be. However, there was a couple occupying the spot and they were obviously not in any hurry to leave. ARRGGGHH!

Being the quick thinker that I am (yeah, right), I moved a good distance away and began to act as if I was sketching the scenery in my caching notebook. I must have sketched the entire landscape by the time those two decided to move on.

Once they were headed out, I glanced down at my handiwork and admitted to myself that, wow, that's about the WORST lanscape sketch I've EVER seen! Two pages in my notebook had been totally wasted!

The good news is that the second stage was a quick find after they left. Got my info and am ready for the next step.

Slowly, with Snake1411's help, I'm walking through the stages. He's assisted me with translations of the each stage's coords so far. Hopefully I can finish this one before Saturday.

Regards,

- Mark (S-4-C)

Hmmm...

I don't mean to monopolize this thread, but nobody else is posting to it. Smile

With many thanks to Snake1411 I was able to finish this quest early Saturday morning. As usual, I made it harder for myself than I needed to. I can't say more or I may give something away.

In passing on the codes back and forth, I now have a complete set of data for both the East and West side of town. If anyone needs a "virtual" partner for this hunt, as mentioned by Snake1411 above, I'll be able to help out with either side of town. Hopefully this may help him by not getting all of the calls for assistance on the west side.

I recommend this hunt, but offer this one bit of advice - it's a LOT easier to do in the early morning hours or in the afternoons when the muggle count is low. At other times you'll have to operate in super stealth mode.

Thanks for the hunt,

- Mark (S-4-C)
