A friend called today for help with a cache. He just needed me to read the description and logs to him. The hint was "Hidden Georgia Style". Since most of the caches I hunt are in Georgia, what does that mean? Also, what is Atlanta style and Florida style and any other style that you know of?

Hehe - I'll probably get flamed for my interpretation of Atlanta style, but Georgia style usually means under a pile of pine straw. Florida style usually means under a Palmetto frond, and Atlanta style (to me) means under a light pole skirt.

Florida style - in the palm tree, preferably next to or behind the poison ivy growing there.

Georgia style is definately either pinestraw or sticks.

Atlanta style - too funny, Uncle Phat.bak - Firecracker says it's not necessarily under the skirt, sometimes it's just thrown next to the skirt and with or without a baggie to protect it or log to sign

Carolina style is within a 100', btw.

Too funny ! . A cache was hidden recently in Macon , Kid's Cache ( GC18THN ) with these attributes; Cammoed Alabama style
Hidden in a Florida type style (many similar to this in our area of FL).I had no idea what either of them were when I searched? But it was not under a palm tree!! .

One "Atlanta Style" cache is a Coke Bottle. Another possibility is a tennis ball.

I guess I can see that as Atlanta style.....only if there are no light post around of course.

I have seen Atlanta style caches (light post that is) in every state I have cached in. It makes me proud to know that members of the GGA invented the often duplicated skirt lifter.

Oh, and I also remember a cache along the way that was hidden Colorado style. I never figured out what that one meant either.

Maybe Uncle Phat can explain that one to us also?
