I was out today scoping out a place for a new cache. I was looking under a small foot bridge in the middle of a Roswell Park when I was surprised to see a rifle hidden under there.
Kids running around, people walking past, and I am standing on this little foot bridge thinking, wow, there is a gun under there. I did not want to pull it out in the middle of all these folks. I called Roswell Police and they came and pulled it out. It was a .22 rifle. It was in pristine shape. It did not look weathered or have any rust on it. So it had not been there long. Wow, weird place for a .22 rifle; under a foot bridge, in the middle of a Roswell park. After the usual 20 questions from the police "ahh, why were you looking under the bridge?" etc, I was good to go. I guess I won't be putting a cache there. I wouldn't want the gun owner to find the cache, and I suspect the police may keep an eye on the area for a bit. Very strange. |

Now that's a FTF prize! Glad you found it and not one of the kids in the park.

I'm curious if it was loaded? That's scary.

It was not loaded. The bolt was pulled back and the breach was open.
As I was leaving the cop was starting to look in every hidey hole he could find looking for ammo. I told him it looks like his turn to look for a cache. |

While I was looking for a multi in downtown ATL, I found a box of 9mm shells in the plants beside a Marta station. It was missing 1 round. The Marta policeman wasn't sure which was more strange, the shells, or me rummaging through the bushes in 15 degree weather
