Jus as soon as you expose the last frame of the last roll of film, you are guaranteed to see something fantastic that you would rather have taken a shot of instead.
On the way back from Rock Town, today,I saw what could only be described as a serious hard core camper/football fan. These guys were camping with a tent, fire circle, large cooler, satellite dish (embedded in a 5 gallon bucket filled with cement and a 25 inch TV sitting on a stump running off a gas generator. Those campers were not going to miss any bowl games. I was laughing so hard, I had to stop the jeep until it passed.

Digital cameras do come in handy.
I know someone who has a blender powered by a small gasoline engine so he can make daiquiris out in the woods on the tailgate of his Land-Rover. I wouldn't doubt that he was among those you saw today if it was anywhere near the Rich Mtn. Rd.

Gas engine? Our club memebers have DC 12V blenders to run off car batteries.
When I was camped out down in Savannah for the GGA meeting, a group of fishermen had a really elaborate setup. Besides an industrial sized BBQ grill, they had:
A full sized slurpee (icee) machine.
A full sized (as in theater) popcorn machine.
Big screen TV w/sat dish.
Actual recliners - like in the house.
Enough beer to float the CSS Virginia.
I asked the park folks about them and they said they do that every year for two weeks. Impressive.

I don't think they were a formal club, per se. From their vehicles and manner, I got the impression they all worked at the same place and got together once a year to get away from the wives.
For some reason I can't bring myself to type the former name of the CSS Virginia. Google brings it right up though.
It's not often you see that reference any more. However, I'm an amateur researcher of that particular piece of history, along with it's counterpart. I've acquired several engravings and memorabilia related to their first meeting.
Now I've just gotta find a way to get a gas-powered blender!

Seems to me there ought to be a new word coined that describes going "away from home" with those many conveniences. "Camping" just doesn't seem to describe it. I've been in some of those rigs and wouldn't feel right schlepping around in a holey T-shirt and ragged blue jean shorts in a $500,000 home on wheels. Seems Country Club attire would be more appropriate, but that just ain't me. My idea of camping is a tent, a sleeping bag and trying to get a fire going with wet wood, not the way you go out. Jealous? You bet!

It is called "Ritz-Carlton-ing," or ritzcarltoning in the slang version we pop-uppers use.
Heck! The Ritz Carlton doesn't have those conveniences -- nor is the chef Ms. Peaches!
