I'm starting this as a new thread as an offshoot of the "Bell Mountain" thread.
While reading the logs for Bell Mountain, I somehow found myself at the first-finder (I think) profile page. While looking I noticed he hasn't logged on since like Feburary of 2003. I look at his placed caches, and this one, cache #1: Lake John Burton came up. Long story short: It hasn't been found since 2003. And the person who found it logged that the reason they found it was that the cache owner has passed away. Reading the logs for the cache, I noticed that several GGA members have found it oh-so-long ago. Just wondering.. is this within reach of anybody to go find again? I can't go look for it anytime soon, but evidently it's still there and there's a TB in it as well. Kinda sad, and somewhat surreal, to read logs and caches of those who are no longer with us. |

Gosh, I was FTF exactly three years ago today.
I remember the cache hunt vividly, and still have the paring knife I found in the cache. Sad to hear that the cache owner is no longer with us. Unfortunately, it's not one I'll be able to return to, unless someone waves a magic wand over my knee. ~erik~ |
