Hannah and I recently completed two long-term goals at one time. Some years ago, before we started geocaching, we started an effort to drive the entire length of US-41, the once main route from the upper mid-west to Florida. We had driven the route in Wisconsin at that time and completed the drive from Illinois to Miami in two segments. All that remained was the northern most segment.
A few weeks ago, we started on another project; a road trip to find a cache in each of the mid-west/western states that we were missing. This turned out to be a 6364 mile jaunt over 16 days but, since it required that we cross US-41 on the Michigan upper peninsula, we took the opportunity to complete driving the length of US-41 to the northern terminus. When we reached that end-point, we discovered that it was marked with a geocache, GCGM41 “1990”. We, of course, took photos and logged the cache as a find.
Last night, I discovered another coincidence. This cache also marked another milestone. It was cache find number 2300!
