Cache Appeal

Yesterday morning, Chaos & I (& the hubby) met the Siberian Husky Club of North Georgia to hike the 5.5 mile Homestead Trail on Red Top Mountain State Park. (8 dogs, 10 people, lots of fun).
After that we set out for what I hoped would be my 99th & 100th finds. We parked at the trail head & started out for the short hike to Johnnie's Vineyard Mountain cache. I was fine going up, but on the way back down my knee was trying to go out. The hike down actually took longer than the hike to the top. So we decided to call it a day.
But I was still very excited because this cache was stocked with Lacy Nickels! Check out these pictures!
Thanks for the challenging hike Johnnie!!!

#100 will come soon enough. My knees gave out over the weekend hiking 9+ miles up and down the Hike Inn trail at Amicalola Falls. I had to stay home and rest the next day with heating pads on my knees. It's rough getting old. frown

But it beats the alternative smile

Those nickels are neat aren't they. Nice job on those things Robert, Allen, and Johnnie.

Congrats on finding your 100th. (I know its premature, but the way the two of you are going - 200 is not far away).
I can attest that it is harder on the body coming down, rather than going up!) I usually wear a knee brace now in the mountains as there is a lot of 'phat.bak' for my poor ole knees to shock absord. The calves burn on the way up, and knees buckle on the way down.
Damn it gets harder every trip. wink

It shouldn't be too hard to find some of Johnnie's second nickels, but one of my first nickels will be hard to find as I only had a few made to see how they looked.

And of course the 2003 versions are coming.

Congrats on finding your 99th. I'm honored that
you found one of mine. Hard climb!!! That was one of my first wooden nickels. I have some like the other Lacy's, and the 2003 nickels will start being put out in a few days.
Happy caching and new years

Happy caching and new years

I left home a little early (OK, 3 hours early) so I could try to find a couple of caches before the GGA meeting. At my very first stop I was THRILLED to find a new 2003 Lacy nickel to add to my collection. I also got a good laugh when I read the log. It seems that Johnny & Eric's knife have been logging caches all over the state.
