I'm traveling to Denver, leaving on Friday, June 20th. While out there I simply cannot pass up the opportunity to make a run over into Kansas to visit GC30, the world's oldest still active cache.
I'll be at the June GGA Meeting - if anyone has a travel bug they'd like to visit this historic cache I'd be glad to take it there for you. Bring it along to the GGA meeting & hook up with Doctor Mole.
Thanks!

Funny. I was thinking the same thing when we go to an event cache in Colorado at the end of July. It is a drive to get there, but it might be worth the trip. Now that the wife has been bitten by the caching bug, she might tolerate the side trip to get that historic cache.

Well my wife hasn't been bitten by the cache bug yet, but it turns out I'm flying out an entire day BEFORE she is - had to in order to get a free ticket! So a semi-quick detour into Kansas & then the rest of the day for nabbing KS and CO caches!

You will enjoy finding this one - it's a high quality, well maintained cache. We found it last year on June 7 on the return leg of what turned out to be a 6,348 mile road trip. Even though it was June, it was cold and the wind was blowing so hard we had trouble standing.

We found this cache back in Feb 07 on our cross country geo-road trip. It was snowing and cold and windy! But even with all that we had to stop and get the this cache. Have fun. Smile
