I just received a lovely tin of Pralines in the mail today from two children (geonick: klkm05).

The Story:
Back when the Geocoin Fairy visited GCM18Y on 9/21, I had left 3 geocoins in my cache as trade for the Fairy coins. At some point between 9/21 and 9/26, a thief came and took all 3 coins without leaving a note or log anywhere. Nice huh? On 9/26, klkm05 visited the cache and reported the coins were not there when they arrived.

Since this family had children who were looking forward to finding geocoins in the cache, I felt horrible knowing they were cheated out of the find because of some selfish individual. So I contacted the family requesting their address in order to mail them some geocoins for the kids.

Today I received a beautiful Halloween-themed tin filled with pralines as a thank you for sending the coins. I'll be bringing the unopened tin to the GGA Challenge Event to share with everyone who wants some. What a nice and thoughtful thing to do!

To the loser who stole from my cache... I hope you feel real good about yourself knowing you took from children. You should be ashamed of yourself Mad

I'm certain your kindness would have been extended to them regardless of whether or not the coins had been STOLEN . It's just too bad that the thief prompted your action and in doing so denied others from the enjoyment of your coin.

Don't say you can't, say you'll try.

As an example of the contagiousness of kindness...
After reading your story Joebids and Slayerette kindly replaced my BYOP* cache that I'd been remiss in not checking up on. Thanks!

Now I guess it's my turn. Wink

AG.... I'm not tempted by coins, but if you open up that tin and leave one on the table.....well, I can't be responsible for my actions..... Smile

Yesterday we (Slay, Bamadaisy5, Cym, Shadow_Lang & I) replaced a cache for Birdies in AL and did some maintenance on another of her caches upon request. Get well soon Anna!

Thanks to my very first Geocoin event (courtesy of AG), I'm hooked and now own 4 Geocoins and am currently persuing more. I figure I'll start circulating them until the first one disappears and then just carry them around with me for people to discover.

I don't know how she continues to do it..
