A Halloween Caching Story:

I have said in the pass that a good geocache has a story behind it.
I never thought that one of mine would not only have a story, but a Halloween story.
I'm no good at writing stories, so I will just high light the facts and you will have to
imagine the story from the events that took place.

It all started back in 2001.
Mud bug 65 put out a cache on Oct. 2, 2001 named Double Double Toil & Trouble (GC2030)
for Halloween. If I remember right I was first to find. You see I have always like Halloween
and the whole trick or treat deal. After Halloween Mud Bug pulled the cache till the next year.
This was before the no temporary geocache rule.

In 2002 Mud Bug was not as active in caches and was not going to put the cache out again.
With his consent I put out a new Halloween cache. It was named Fire, Burn; & Caldton, Bubble
(GC8F2A). put out Sept. 16, 2002. Again I pulled it after Halloween.

The next year 2003 I place it in Pool Park in Forsyth County as a permanent placement due to the
new rules. It came on line Oct. 2, 2003. After a short life it came up missing. I replace it near-by.
Then on Sept 4, 2004 the Forsyth County Park Manager asked that it be removed.

On Sept. 26, 2004 it was reborn as Walking the Witch Walk (GCKN22)

Here is where it becomes a story to be told around camp fires and any other time that ghost stories are in order. In September this geocache was stolen. I posted this note on the page:.

It is a very sad day. I have to report that a evil spell has been conjured at the witch walk. Please keep your fingers cross that the spell will be lifted. Someone has took the witch's cache box. Once in years past before I adopted this cache someone took the goodies out of it and a spell of seven year of bad luck was casted on them. The guy's wife took up with his friend, and later the transmission went out in his car.
Then last year the person that took this cache box and all the trade goods lost their job and relocated, and bought a home in New Orleans. Need I say more.
So this latest cache bandit is in for seven years of very bad luck. I am going to leave the page up for a very days so the corpit can return it with a note here and have the spell lifted.
Don't worry about the witch and her cache. Her caches has a load of magic with it. If I archive it, magic will make it
be reborn in a new location, with a new name and new owner.

May voo doo live on.

***********

On May the 8th 2006 I replace it with a hard to find cache named Walking the New Witch Walk (GCVYDF)

But the story is not over.

This month the stolen cache was returned to it original hiding place, and was setting out in the open.
A fellow cacher found it and trace it to me. I was dumb foundered.
It is now active again as The Witch's Halloween Cache (GCZ01P)

by Jeep02

Now I believe in voo doo dolls.

Can you add to this story?
Comments welcome!

I can add to the story?

I'll mysteriously remove the cache and replace it a few weeks later. Razz

Strange story. But at least the stolen cache came back home, even if it was a bit spooky.
