I went to cache today that I will leave nameless here and failed to find it. It is Multi-cache with parking coords. When I found the first stage it send me back to the parking lot. It look as if my truck was the second stage. So I went home. and put it on my watch list.

Did you check it carefully for coords to the third stage?
Hope you didn't have to go too far to not find this cache. I guess that's one of risks of trying to be a first finder. It's happened to me too. Bummer.
I dropped by there at 8:15 last night after seeing Johnnie's forum post. I could see where a lot of stomping around had occured. It soon started getting dark and buggy, then some creepy man started shadowing me. I left without even getting as far as Johnnie did, but will return!
I could not wait a week, I had to go back. I kicked the old witch's behind big time. Hansel and Gretel are safe. When I got to the log book it had already been signed by two people last sunday. This is a must do cache. But watch out for that witch she is still there and may be a little mad. Plus the quite man that hangs out there watching you tracking the witch.

The dynamic duo of TnT did a great job on this one. I enjoyed the hunt, though at times I wondered if I wasn't a quarter of a mile off! It was a great relief to find the intermediate stages. Finding the cache was easy after conquering those bewitching rocks. Thanks!
The cache was placed in memory of "Lake Lanier" (GC21) which I discovered missing a couple months ago and (sadly) recommended archiving. We did fail to note this on the cache info page, but will do so now. I traded emails with "Lake Lanier" owner, who is now in Virginia, and told him of the plan.
With all due respect to Allen, the final cache location is sort of near "Lake Lanier."
This cache wasn't supposed to be tougher than a 3.5 for difficulty, so here is special consideration for all you wonderful folks, like Johnnie, who had some trouble:
Each stage has a "good rock" and a "bad rock." They are "together" in a secret way. The good rock leads you to the next stage (duh) and the bad rock leads you to a logically illogical location. They are all very near trees. You will understand why. Special hint I have given a couple people: The second stage is at a long fallen tree, about half way up the trunk.
Now, wimps, GO FOR IT.
I LOVE this game!

I went to check on "Hansel and Gretel" today and took a shortcut (owners can do that). On the way I found a cache that I think is the missing Lake Lanier cache! It is intact, although a little damp and messy. Someone had put Advil tablets in it, and they got wet. I will examine the logs to verify. Now, you experts on good practices, what do I do with the cache? Put it back and recommend a reinstatement? Who maintains it, since the owner is in Virginia? Etc.
Edited to say: By the way, I found the cache about 350 feet from the place it was hidden.

The owner is now in Georgia, I officially took ownership by asking the original owner if he minded and then forwarding his ok to TPTB at geocaching.com. It took a little over a week but they transferred ownership to me on 7/17/80, which is when it came out of archive and became "temporarily unavailable". If what you found is it and has the logbook, I would very much like to have the logbook, if it in good enough shape I will put in the replacement cache container. If not I will keep and try to take pictures of it, for my records and to send to the original placer if he wants them. As for the rest it, I will take care of it once we figure out how to get together.

I think it's cool that Trailerman found the original "Lake Lanier" cache. That will really allow Allen to keep that cache alive as one of the first in Georgia.
Now we can have a beginner's cache not far from a masochist's cache along this part of Lake Lanier.
As long as Allen moves it far enough away so it won't be stumbled upon as Trailerman did it should be great.

Super plan, Allen! I will send you a phone number where I can be reached and we can plan to get the cache and logbook to you. I am sure it is the "Lake Lanier" cache.
