I've started working on this one, but I'm having to hone my (as yet unlearned) UTM skills in order to zero in it. Saw it pop up yesterday, and the description had me very interested.

I doubt I'll be a FTF, but maybe after this weekend's meeting I may be able to go after it.

Good luck to all who are pursuing this one.

It ain't gonna be me either. The last few weeks have been spent in Erik's Body Shop fixing my son's bent car. Except for the GGA Meeting Saturday this weekend will be no better. Frown

Well, I've tried learning as much as I could about UTM from the web, but it's still a bit confusing to me. I've come up with some coordinates and sent them to YJ. I'm hoping he'll at least confirm them with a YES or NO. After hunting for his 1984 cache, I'm not even going to go looking for this one until I'm at least sure I have the correct coords. Smile

I don't think anyone has to worry. I'm not very confident about my calculations, but we'll see. Stranger things have happened.

The first round of hints got me to UTM which now appears to be the wrong approach. The second round of hints has me scratching my head even more. I guess I'll have to wait for the next round of hints or the First Finder to shed some more light on the subject.

The number 311 came up while trying to solve this one. Maybe it means something to someone else out there. I may have to call 911 for assistance with this one. YJ isn't saying much about this one. Not even a reply to my e-mails to say, "Sorry No Hints/No Help." Roll Eyes

Difficulty 2 = Average. The average cache hunter would be able to find this in less than 30 minutes of hunting.

I didn't even rate AVERAGE. Crying 'Cause I've spent way more than 30 minutes on this one and I haven't even let the comfort of my home yet. To quote one of the great minds of our time,

Good Grief!

That pesky Yellow Jacket has stung me before in my zeal to be the first finder. It's as if he revels in the confusion of no-finders & head scratching. Well, my hat is off to him, but I'm also waiting for a more mortal hint from someone who understands YJ's oblique GaTechisms.....

.... Do a geocaching.com keyword search. Does YJ have any brothers in AZ? Geo-Agent

I don't know if this might help someone or not, but here's a possible hint (and it's readily available to anyone who looked for it):

JB, that fact that you actually went out and purchased each of those items scares me. Have you ever talked to a professional about "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder"? Then again I think ALL of us on these Boards could be considered terminally OCD. (I sense GGA March 04 Meeting topic: Mapping, Cache Boxes and How to spot if your fellow Cacher is even more OCD than you are.) Never mind . . . I'm just going to crawl back under my rock until I figure out this puzzle. I think I have an idea; however, I could not locate one of the items at the Favorite store. I could find one very similar to it (which I bought two to use at my house), but I have to venture out to another Favorite store to see if they have it.

Thanks for nothing. We went out & bought the items tonight. Now that I have a handle on how to solve the puzzle, guess I'll be going back to the store tomorrow Fool Laugh

We'll see how far we get in the next few days...

We've conquered this cache, finally! Now, hopefully my Discover card statement will show my +'s & -'s correctly.
