Cache Appeal![]() ![]() |
I know there are alot of variables to this question, but how do you decide whether to go out of your way to check on a possible missing cache? And do you go right away, or wait for a second "no find" log?
A log to one of my Trail Dog caches said that the contents were all wet, so I went to it the next day and it was dry as a bone. A log to one of my 5 Savannah micro caches said they couldn't find it. They found the other 4 with no trouble, so I went to it the next day and it was right where I left it. Both of these were only 30 minutes out of my way, so it wasn't too bad to go check them out. But today there was a log that another of my caches is "missing". This one is about an hour away, so I'm not so ready to jump in the truck & run to it for another false alarm. I come to you guys with this because I believe that placing a cache is a responsibility & I want to fulfil that. |

I placed the way I handle it in a Geocaching Best Practices topic. To me that seemed a better place for this topic.
