We raised $35 for the Elachee Center this evening. The winners, PatSandra were gracious enough to donate their winning share ($35) to the Elachee Center for a grant total of $70 bucks!!! Wahoo!!! Thanks Pat and Sandra!

After payday (Tuesday) I'll be happy to contribute $10 more to the pot to help get things a little closer to the cost of a GPS.

For those who want to ensure a charitable tax deduction for any money donated you might want to make a note of that.

Yes, the first Saturday of every month is Trail Volunteer Day at Elachee Nature Center. We've been working for several months to relocate the West Lake Trail. We'll meet at the Aquatic Center on the south end of the park at 10 am.

You can bring a donation if you want. Just give it to me rather than Cynthia, as I'd like to be able to present one big donation for the GPS units, rather than a bit now and a bit more later.

I realize that the money raised for Elachee is being considered to purchase Magellan equipment. However, take a look at this thread: Office Max Sale

I've just ordered my own Vista for $169, and other Garmin products are priced similarly. Not sure if this is because of the new color units or if someone made a mistake, but I'm grabbing the deal while I can. We may be able to get a sweet deal on several units for Elachee if we or they act quickly.
