I am thinking about cruising up the FS roads for these two caches this Sunday. If anyone is interested in coming along, let me know. I'll probably start early morning, weather permitting.

I might be interested in going. Do you need to traverse all or part of the 11 mile Bull Mountain trail to get the Lance Creek cache?

Don't say you can't, say you'll try.

CharlieP is coming with me, but you're welcome to the back seat Smile

My plan is to drive the FS roads to the close-by parking at Lance Creek. Accor5ding to YoYoMan's log, it may be possible to drive right to it.

I'd like to drive along with you. Or at least a far as I can considering my vehicle is just 2wd...A Jeep Cherokee. I have a friend in the area I'd like to visit with afterwards. Just say where/when. Joe

It's not at all clear you couldn't make it all the way in a 2wd vehicle. I will be driving up 400 and 19 to Dahlonega, then Ga52 to FS-21. All is paved to that point, and FS-21 is a maintained gravel road.

I would expect to be in Dahlonega by 9:00am. Give me a call at home 770-781-8936 to discuss possible meeting points.

I did 'em both in a Chevy S-10 (2WD) with no problems. You guys shouldn't have a problem.

Also, if we get these two early we might keep going further north for Rock Lake

I got in too late to respond, sorry. I'll try calling you in the morning else I'll head up to arrive in Dahlonega around 9:00.

If we don't meet up (my fault for a late response) I may try them anyway, otherwise I'll go ahead and visit my friend.

Yes we did have a great day. Mountain caching can be fun, challenging...and it can wear your...self out. Between the hikes to and from the caches and hanging onto the vehicle's steering wheel from the rough riding makes you long for a hot bubble....Ah, A hot manly shower afterwards. Thanks to KVOM and CharlieP for the adventure.
