I should mention that when we drove up, there was an older fellow in cammo outfit parked at the end of the road, so I'm assuming there's a good chance that hunters do go up there.

I‘ve been in the area hiking and I cam across some horse riders and saw where motorcycles have created ruts, as well as tracking some ATVs. Is this permitted in the area or are these local rebels?
It is not legal to ride ATV's or motorcycles on the USFS land there. However, there is a fairly large tract of private land just below the KVOM cache... Horseback riding is legal

Glad to see you guys made it there and back safely - with the exception of TREZ's transmission - and that you were successful. Also glad you went yesterday instead of today. It must be freezing up there today.
Cache, responsibly.....

Like your tag line says: If it's not raining, it's not really Geocaching!
PigMan and I had a Blast 4 wheeling up to the cache. Sure made it allot easier only having to climb two tenths of a mile. And the transmission thing, heck, it's only a car and why have a 4x4 if you don't see what it can do and were it can take you but thanks for the sentiment.
It's a matter of degrees

Thanx. I didn't let T3 know it, but I was more concerned with the bear than the terrrain. If you are close enough to smell them, you are too close. That was only my second time being that close.
Thanx also to Rebel! The Bear Bell you made for me worked! I never go into the woods without it.

So, is there an actual "post" at the 30 mile post? If so, if you have a picture that shows all of it can you e-mail it to me? I thought it didn't exist.

Well the only time I ever saw a bear while geocaching was climbing Mount Yonah after one of your geocaches. I waited and let him go his way while I went mine. I was more concerned the time Robert and I came across a wild pig about 100 feet off the trail we were on. A wild pig is like a bear in that he will only bother you if you bother him. The problem is just seeing you tends to bother the wild pig.

Congratulations guys on the find, I guess the ride home gave you time to reflect on the days events. So, am I to understand that if I hear a bell ringing in the woods, it’s a wild pig looking for a party?
