I need your ideas and a few volunteers! Please consider volunteering if you can, as I have enough extra challenges on the downtown side of this project.

This is for a 'Geocaching Demo' I am organizing for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.
Mtn-Man and I have two possible dates chosen - Oct 16 or 23rd. We've also contemplated attatching it to The Challenge event so volunteers will be imposed upon to a lesser degree, however, it may be too much in one day.

For those of you who haven't hit the back button just now:

I NEED IDEAS - I want to give a handout of actual caches we suggest they start with. The list will need to cover North, South, E & W Metro Atlanta. This list will also suggest a few unique caches ie:Barking Lot - "Take your dog on this one" / a good VIRTUAL / a LEARNING cache / a Lake cache / an ACTIVITY cache (mini golf?)....you get the idea.

If anything has popped into your head it's probably a good option. I haven't had time to cache much recently (3 BBBS projects right now) so I need suggestions from those who've already cached these places.

Thanks in advance and thanks for 'caring to sharing'.

Barring work, I would be happy to help out with a Geo-Demo event. After doing some of the caches I have lately, the label "Geo-Dummy" seems to fit pretty well Smile

As far as ideas for a list of caches, do they need to be limited in any way or is this more like same things we would start a brand new friend with?

Perhaps instead of individual caches, you might consider locations where there are several caches clustered together. That way if a beginner wasn't able to find one of them, there would be a couple others to try in close proximity.

For example: Bogan Park, near Buford, has 4-5 caches that are relatively easy.

For north Fulton, you might want to consider the series of caches along the Greenway path, all of which can be gotten either by a 1-2 mile walk or by driving between well-spaced parking.

Caches include:

Swampy Waffle (easy micro)
Kobayashi Maru (easy ammo box)
Lunch Break #4 (fairly hard micro)
BYOP (fairly hard micro in the woods)
Hande Hoch (tricky container)

In the same area are a couple of others that might work as well:

Ben's Big Creek (easy hide)
Alpharetta Apheresis (TB depot, so good intro to TBs)
Nostromo (further up the Greenway, companion to Kobayashi, intro to the multi Poseidon)

Unfortunately there are no virtuals in this area.

Another possibility is 3 caches in Roswell:

Chameleon Sphere from Flatland (virtual)
Ox, Troll, and Jake (3-part multi with interesting stages, all doable from 1 parking lot))
Roswell Manufacturing Company (Interesting multi pointing out history of Roswell with scenic hike and a moderately hard hide in the woods - need Deet in summer)

Screeeeeeeeeeeching Halt!
Downtown BB/BS has just put a halt on this project via the fact that I cannot get cooperation (no hitches 2003 or 2002 fall projects - ? - new personell). It's a shame because what kid would not love this hobby?
Thanks so kindly to all who took time to respond.
