I was at Sam's Club in Rome yesterday and found a seasonal item of interest. They have a two pack of Mag 3AA LED Minimags for $19.86.
Comes with 2 holsters and 6AA Duracell batteries. These do not have the multi-mode switch that the 2AA unit can be found with.

Every pack has a black one along with either a red, blue, silver or digital camo (saw 1 of those). A few also had both units in black.

Item number on receipt is 941592. UPC code is 0 38739 53348 3.

Lowes sells single units for $21.24 for Black or $24.78 for Gray

Did you buy a set? I've been looking for an led flashlight that 'will light up the sky'. I have need of a super-bright flashlight.
How bright are these?

I did buy a set. Will try to get some pics of it vs a standard 2AA Minimag and my 4D cell Maglite.
My brother the police officer recommends the Magcharger rechargeable and his life depends on being able to see. I told him about this deal on Amazon.com and he said he gave about $110 several years ago for his. He HIGHLY suggested I get the Magcharger but just can't convince the misses of the need for an almost $90 flashlight...

I just bought a pair of these Cree R2 flashlights. Less than $30 for the pair delivered to my door (minus batteries). Haven't owned them long enough to comment on battery life. But I was very pleased with how bright they are! Made my 2AA minimags seem kinda silly.

They take CR123A batteries which are over $11/pair at Home Depot but WAY cheaper online (ex: ebay).

Check out CandlePowerForums. I never realized there was such a subculture of hardcore flashlight fanatics. Good information from people who seem to know.

My only issue with CR123A batteries is in an emergency I will probably NOT have a spare pair around.

I have several other things I can rob AA batteries out of if needed (other flashlights, TV remote, weather alert radio and Eek my GPS!)

Recently found CandlePowerForums myself. Used to think I was a flashlightaholic but those folks, WOW!
