hey gang -

got some walmart gift certificates and they are just burning a hole in my pocket! i want to get a nice digital camera. ive checked out walmart, but there are so many neat ones that i am just perplexed.

not looking for anything too fancy - something that has a lcd screen, easy to upload pics on my desktop, and takes good pics. any ideas? trying too keep it under $200.

thanks

I'm an Olympus fan, so I'd check out this one.

If you have Windows XP (and others but not sure which) it is recognized as a removable drive when you plug it in the USB port. Couldn't be any easier to download your pictures if you wanted to.

That, plus you'll have some $$ leftover for other goodies. Big Grin

See ya on the hunt!

You might want to check out http://www.cnet.com for digital camera reviews. There's some good info on the cameras, as well as customer opinions. You can also search for the best prices on the web.

I bought my girlfriend a Canon Powershot A80 for Xmas. It's a great camera (4 megapixels) and it'll do movies up to 3 minutes. The downloaded photos look great, but the best price doesn't fall within the price range you specified.

Good Luck!

I've been giving mine a good licking for the past 2 years and it's held up great. I think they have a 3-something megapixel Finepix 210 model for under $200. One of the features I like is the sliding lens cover that really protects the lens when closed. Good for geocaching & bushwhacking! Not sure if the big W carries the brand? -JB
