Anybody got some PC100 or PC133 computer memory sticks ya want to deal for? Prefer 512mb or 256mb. I've got 2 open slots on my MacG4 - but it can use these old PC memory sticks also.

Just puttin out a feeler, cuz I've got a need for speed.

I might at work. If I do, I will give them to you.

Edited to add that I am not sure what they are honestly. As we have had machines die I have yanked the memory and hard drives. I take the hard drives apart for the magnets. I will take a picture of the memory chips. I am not sure what the difference is.

Looks like I have four memory sticks in PC100. One says that it is 256MB on it. The other three do not say. I'm betting 256. I would be more than happy to let you try them and take the fastest ones. I don't know how many open slots you have. We can see what Rebeljedi comes up with too.

Are you going to the January meeting?

Trust me... the irony of a Mac guy asking the PC guy for help is not lost on me.

I thought I had some, but I can't find 'em. Glad mtn-man came up with the PC100.

I found a stick! Dunno what is though, it's not labeled "normally." When I get back home I'll research it's partnumber and see what it is.. if it works, it's yours - I'll never use it again.

Heh... I figured out what it is, and you don't want it: it's an *old* 64MB SDRAM module, 168-pin. The 1997 date on the PCB should have tipped me off.

Thanx mtn-man, T3, Cym and jedi for looking. Here is what the stics were:
Cym - you say yours is a 64mb
Trez - yours is a 64mb
mtn-man - you had (1) 256mb, (2) 128mb stics and (1) 64mb.
I used the 256 and one of the 128's.
Since I have 4 slots, I now have (3) 256's and (1) 128 for a total of 896mb of memory.
Thanx for the 'speed bump'. I can tell a difference. I'll get the extras back to you guys.

I'll keep watching eBay for cheep 512mb stics cuz my Mac will recognize up to 2gb - ya never know...
