Found a magnet at Wal-Mart (in electronics) for cell phone mounting. Super Magnet sells for $1.95 and is the EXACT diameter of a 35mm film canister

I think that AndyManD is already using this magnet of one of his micros in the Buckhead area. If it is the same magnet . . . works great.

I will neither confirm nor deny that I used a magnet in any of my caches. (Off the record, though, it's a different magnet.

Sledgehampster showed me this trick last week when I met him, it couldn't have been designed for a 35mm canister any better than it is right off the shelf. I left his place of work and stopped down the street at the local dollar only store (Dollar Zone, all these dollar places know me on sight I think) and was looking at Nokia 3300 leather covers (they fit the etrex great, yes only a dollar) and I saw the same item he showed me...one dollar. So, now you guys and gals need to get up to Rome, find our caches and stop by the Dollar Zone to stock up!

The first message in the thread indicated Wal-Mart had these things, but I scoured my local Wal-Mart last night to no avail, checked cellphone accessories and automotive departments, nothing.
If anyone knows a sure-fire source for these, please post it here. I want to get a few and I'm sure others do too. -- Scott Johnson (ScottJ) |

Hope this helps. |
