I replaced my PC and need to get it set up for paperless caching. In particular I need to reload the File Converter (CRConverter?) that I downloaded from the Smittyware website.

I can extract the files just fine, but how do I install them on my PC. I don't see a setup or .exe file among the unzipped files.

I was able to do this on the old PC, but am now suffering brain fade, the FAQs on the Smittyware site are no help. Any helpful geeks out there?

Do you mean CMConvert?
Are you sure you downloaded the .zip file and not the .tgz file?
The 1.9.2 .zip file does contain the .exe file.

Yeah, maybe I did select the wrong download. This time it worked fine.

However, it looks different. The old version had buttons to load a file, to select all, then to convert. I don't see a convert button. If this is a converter there's gotta be one, right?

Or am I just getting punchy?

Oh never mind. Clicking on the "save" icon did it. Now let's see if it'll go to the PDA...

Yep, that worked fine. I'm back in business!

Well, I thought I was back in business, but now I see that the last five logs for each previously found cache are not loading onto the CacheMate program on the PDA. I'll have to delve into that problem...

Whoops, never mind. I see I forgot to selec "show last five logs", as well as some other info on the dialog box that pops up in the converter...

I am so smart I amaze myself sometimes. Now I just have to figure out why this new PC is configured with two seperate cup holders, but the trays slide out right on top of each other. Not really room for two cups, but it does make one cup much more stable than on the old PC's single slide design. Now I just need to file out the hole in the top holder so my cup will fit properly....

The things I need to do to break in a new PC.

Silly Erik.....the top tray is for your drink and the bottom one is for a donut or bagel.

If I put a drink in the top one it might drip on the donut or bagel underneath.

I put the donut on that little rectangular pad thing on the desk.

I do have to take my shoes off to operate the foot switch. The one with my mom's sewing machine has just one pivoting switch. This one has two smaller buttons with a small wheel between them. It's even hard to operate with socks on.

Naw ~Erik~ you know they are called "duncan donuts" for a reason. They are supposed to be dunked in the java so having some dripped on it is not really a problem. That is the way java and donuts are supposed to work so I understand.

Now that three button thing was not difficult for my cat to figure out; he just attacked it. It must have something to do with that tail. He must think it is a mouse or something. it is impossible to master with Moose feet and antlers though. I now tell my cat what I want to do and if the cat agrees, he makes that button and wheel thing work. <very big grin>

The bottom tray is actually the coffee holder. I suggest you go by McDonalds and ask them for a really HOT cup of coffee. Open the bottom tray and place the cup on that tray. When you want a drink of the coffee just push the button for the top tray. That button is there to insure that you get your coffee on demand (on demand, on delap, on dearm, on deleg and on dekeyboard.

Good luck with your new coffee server.

I read somewhere on the internet (so you know it's true) that if you push coffee beans into the area where the humming comes from that it will grind up the beans for you.
