I'm wondering at the proper size of the data plan I should entertain. I don't want to get socked with lots of overcharges. I'm wondering what you AT&T iPhone users have discovered about the amount of data you use on a average month that includes some caching?
Your thoughts and advice are appreciated.

I have an Iphone, but I am not on AT&T. I solely use my gc.com app thru WiFi. I do not have a data plan. So I just have a phone plan through T-Mobile. Sorry.

2 GB per month is a crazy amount of Iphone data usage.
I have used nearly that amount, but I tether my iphone to my lap top and use it to access the the net and check emails when I am on the lake. Even while doing this I never go above 2 GB.
I would say, unless you are planning on downloading video, 2 Gb is the upper limit of any normal needs. You will probably need less.
One nice thing with AT&T you can change you data plan every month so if you know you are going todo a lot of caching and you will run over the 200MB limit on the lower plan, you can up it for that month to 2GB.
An useful app I loaded onto my iPhones is called Dataman. It tracks your data usage and will give you popup warnings when you are reaching your limits. It seems like it is worth the $1.99
Anybody know of a good FREE geocaching type app for the iPhone? I don't want to view a map, store a bunch of caches or connect to GC.com, all I want is to be able to enter a set of coordinates and get numerical distance and bearing info back. (w/ no data usage)

Geotools? Is that the correct name? I found "myGeotools" but that app is described as a mobile front end for the website mygeotools.de which allows you to download and use "code tables" offline. There's an example page showing an english to klingon conversion chart.
We both have GeoSphere on our iPhones. It's similar to GSAK in that you can download pocket queries and access the database even when you have no service. It's not free but definitely worth the $7.99.

I think MotionX GPS Lite (free) will do that. Haven't used it personally but their description in the App Store mentions:

Thanks Wb-Lanier! I downloaded MotionX GPS Lite and it's almost exactly what I was lookin' for. While the interface is overly cluttered and complicated, I kept poking around and was finally able to get to the following screen with the numerical readout I wanted.
