I went to Atlanta today and vrought the GPS and laptop w/ my new power inverter Smile, anyways I boot up topo5 (GPS is already on and has signal) and topo recognizes GPS and statrts tracking, then a few minutes later I start to recieve the differential data from the Sats and Topo regonizes this and changes its status indicator from "3-D GPS" to "3-D DGPS" and the cursor stops moving and the lat and lon stop changing, however speed and bearing change and are constitent with the car and gps. So i turned WAAS off on the GPS and everything worked.
So it appears as though Delorme will only let you use WAAS with its program is if you by the Earthmate. Go figure.

Happy Hunting! Smile

I use a garmin legend with delorme and everything works fine, so I don't know what is going on there. I did read something somewhere about using nmea with waas. WAAS is not doing you a lot of good anyway while you are moving down the road. Your gps position without waas is probably as accurate as your most zoomed in screen.I see errors all the time in Delorme and I am using the quad sheet level which was prepared from aerial photography. Some of the roads have been moved etc. The garmin road maps I loaded in my legend have all kind of errors in them. You just have to use your common sense.
