An experiment:
W,MEAN ,N33^34'01.33",W084^21'32.84",Waypoint WAYPOINT AVERAGE
W,16 ,N33^34'01.27",W084^21'32.88",Waypoint
W,17 ,N33^34'01.26",W084^21'33.10",Waypoint
W,18 ,N33^34'01.34",W084^21'32.94",Waypoint
W,19 ,N33^34'01.38",W084^21'32.82",Waypoint
W,20 ,N33^34'01.32",W084^21'32.70",Waypoint
I have taken Roo and the bears coordinate and included it as w20. As you can see it is very close to the others. I then threw out w17 which is not as close and averaged the remaining. The average is w mean. I converted it to units you are more familiar with, N33D34.0222m and 84 d21.5473m. If you will post your coordinates I will continue to average the waypoints that are within a circle of under 15 feet. This should yeild an average waypoint determined from many observations over a period of many days and should approach a fairly accurate result. This exercise is purly an experiment and has no value other than to compare results so we can observe just how inaccurate or accurate a single obsertvation can be. I will do a standard deviation if we can get about 50 observations. FYI, what kind of handheld you are using is immaterial since they all have about the same accuracy, however if you are using a survey grade gps in RTK, let me know. Also if you have waas enabled it doesn't mean you have the correction. Make sure you are getting a waas correction. Please enter if you are getting the correction and how many sats you are hearing.
