Jeremy has posted in the Groundspeak forums that there will be two new cache log types and also cache attributes:

quote:

I want to remind developers that there will soon be two new cache log types.

Temporarily Disable Listing
and
Enable Listing

Thanks. They should up early next week when we implement the new Cache Attributes feature.

Good catch Kenneth.

Yes, there have been a significant number of people accidentally archiving their caches when they meant to temporarily disable them. This should help that problem.

The cache attributes is a nifty feature that some have already done by importing icons from another site onto their cache page.

You'll be able to pick from about three dozen icons to post up to ten on your cache page. I don't want to steal Jeremy's thunder by going into too many details, but the cache reviewers have been testing this for the last week and are quite pleased. Should be a nice addition.

The new logtypes and cache attributes are live now.
I've updated some of my pages with the attributes.
They still have less than the 9key ones, but I believe they will add more.

Ok...so I stopped adding attributes to my caches cause they kept adding more and I got tired of trying to keep up.

Any idea on when we reach critical-mass so I know they will be stable?

I just have one attribute on each of my cache pages. Phat_bak and TeamPez would like it. Wink

The only constant is change. Smile

Heehee....ok...so lets reword it since change will always happen.

Are the attributes approaching a general stability?
Last time I checked they were adding about 1 every 2 days.
I'm look for them to be stable for at least a couple of weeks.

Yea, I see it.
It looks like a pile of 'doo-doo'. The cache's must be in a dog-walk park. Up To No Good

To me several of the attributes seem to have marginal use. Here in Georgia, any outdoor geocache during warm weather may have Poison plants appear (Poison Ivy will grow anywhere) and may have Snakes and Ticks as well.

But the strangest is Parking available. I mean every single geocache I have been to, I started walking/hiking to the geocache right where I parked the vehicle. I guess someone could set up a geocache where you had to be dropped off and picked up after it was found. But I think that would be a rare geocache, and not worth a special attribute.

Addition of four new logtypes soon: GPX Developers Thread

quote:

(Jeremy @ Feb 5 2005, 07:03 PM)
Adding two new log types within the next 2 weeks:

Publish Listing
Retract Listing

These will be new action logs for when the listings become published to the
site or when the listing is retracted (or some would call unapproved/approved).

I didn't add these yet, but I will be doing so shortly. I will also be adding:

"Needs Maintainence" and
"Owner Maintainence"

These logtypes have been desperately needed and I welcome them.

Looks like they did a little tweaking on the cache page too:

Find...
...nearby caches of this type , that I haven't found
...all nearby caches , that I haven't found
