I'm quite happy with the previous version of Cachemate. Not sure I understand the improvements and what benefit they would be to me, vs. the hassle of removing the old program and installing the new.

I guess I'm just one of those people who has to be shown the differences. Wink

OK, Just paid for and got Cachemate, 4.0.3, Got the e-mail with the registration code.

Unzipped the files, loaded them into my Tungsten E. Did a query, converted and did a sync. Only loaded 10 records as it said I had the trial version.
1-How or where do I register to get the full capabilities. Never saw a place to insert the regis code and I really don't want to pay another $8.00.

2- On another note, how do I get MobilPocket completely off my palm. Did an add/remove programs, but on sync, all files were there again.

Thanks in advance,

Bob of Bob and Dody

Open cachemate, then click "cachmate", then click "options", then "Register". You'll get a box to put your registration code, and bob's your uncle!

Here's how I do it:

1. Make sure category is "all".
2. Then I select the time showing at the top of the screen. This gives a drop down, whereby I ...
3. select "delete"
4. A list of all the installed apps are provided.
5. Click the app, then click the "Delete" box. Voila! You're a pumpkin!

Hope this helps..

Trailerman showed me Cachemate on his PDA some time ago and I liked it enough to ditch spinner and plucker and download it. When I first did my screens didn't look like his though, and I had to do some customization to get it where I wanted it.

Now that Cymbaline turned you into a pumpkin and made Bob your uncle too, you might want to read some of the previous threads on Cachemate. Wink

Have fun!

Cymbaline and Erik:

Thanks for the info. I kept trying to open CacheMate on my PC, thinking I had to register on-line. Just couldn't get that Palm app to open there!!!!!
Finally figured it out!!

Also figured out with your help the delete mobile pocket and other apps. Have not done a re-sync yet, hope they stay gone.

Thanks again

Uncle Pumpkin Bob

Erik, is your customization, custom code??

No, I was just refering to setting the preferences or options to give me the look I wanted.

Haven't found the option that gives you the small squares on the upper right corner that allows quick changing between views and fields.

Open Cachemate so you're viewing a cache, select "Cachemate" on the top left, then "Options" across the top, then "preferences".

Check the box labeled "Page select w/ pushbuttons" and after you close out of that cache page and open another you'll see the boxes instead of the drop down.
