List price ~ $2399.99
Amazon price ~ 1199.99

I have my GPSr, map software, an Atlas and a fairly good sense of direction.

I don't have an extra $1200 just doing nothing! Roll Eyes

However, Magi did a pretty good job on the interactive flash Ad!

This looks very much like a redesign of the "Hertz Neverlost" nav system, which is a Magellan product. Those things have been in Hertz rental cars for years, nothing terribly revolutionary about them. Smile

...the MapSend DirectRoute for the Maggies we already have. It isn't available yet, but the lowest price I've found so far is $119 at Dave's Marine Electronics.

I mentioned above that this new Magellan unit looked like a rework of the Hertz Neverlost system. I got the following as part of a SPAM e-mail from Magellan today:

quote:

Magellan® RoadMate™

The Magellan RoadMate is a portable vehicle navigation device that makes getting from Point A to Point B a breeze. Easy to use, with the latest in color touch screen technology, the Magellan RoadMate transfers easily from your work car to your personal car to your vacation vehicle... A seamlessly scrolling map continuously shows your position while friendly voice prompts tell you when to make that next turn. Built on technology, that's been road-tested and proven by 4 million drivers, using the Hertz NeverLost® system, Magellan RoadMate adds a new level of ease and enjoyment to your driving experience. Magellan RoadMate - just turn it on and go! Click to Learn More or Find a Dealer near you.

Magellan RoadMate 700, Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price $1499.

It's still too darned expensive. Smile
