I saw this the other day in an e-mail from Kim Komando:
Microsoft has a full research and development facility. At today's site, you can get a sneak peak at the mapping service that the company is working on. Microsoft TerraService for .NET Beta 2 Web site contains 3.3 terabytes of high resolution USGS aerial imagery and USGS topographic maps. You can locate imagery by clicking on the map, entering a city or town name in the "Search TerraServer" form at the top of the page, or entering a U.S. street address. It's pretty cool!
