At the last GGA meeting someone mentioned Mapopolis for the Pocket PC, so I am in the process of checking it out. I have a question for those of you who use mapopolis. How do you load cache waypoints in to it? I use gpsbabel directly (which I believe is the engine that GSAK uses) and I can't find a way to make it generate something that mapopolis will load. This is for version 4.

You'll need to locate the free application "GPX to Maplet". I can't remember where I got it but a Google search will lead you to it. Once you have installed that software, you can configure the program to convert all the waypoints in a GPX file to a pushpin or other graphic icon on the map you use. It can even be set up to show the cache name/GC code/Owner/whatever when you tap on it. Hope this helps, - Mark (S-4-C) |

Yes that helped. I found the app, installed it and it seems to work as advertised. Not very elegant, and its a PC-only application. But mapopolis is just so slick that I may be willing to live with such inconveniences. I sure wish gpsbabel could generate the maplet file directly.
