So I saw when looking through a BassPro catalog that they have a Lowrance iFinder GO GPSr for $79 and an iFinder GO2 for $99.

The GO has a 16MB basemap and supports up to 1000 waypoints and 100 routes.
The GO2 has a 64MB basemap.

So has anyone had any experience with these receivers?
Seems like a heck of a deal for a unit with a basemap.
I checked and the comparable priced Garmin and Magellans don't seem to have basemaps.

I looked at the Lowrance website and noticed they have units that will play MP3/Ogg files! Wow! Jammin' while cachin' Cool2
And you can record field notes with a built in mic (may only be on the PHD model).

Seems major downer is loading of waypoints to/from the units requires conversion through CSV files and is not easily done.
GSAK can automate this a little, but would be easier if Lowrance gave up a little more info about their protocol.

Update:

Just saw in this thread that support for transferring waypoints is now in GPSbabel.

I see it getting into GSAK in the future as well, so if you run across a deal, it might be worth it now.

I am using the Lowrance Expedition and love it. It has only been a few feet off and it does have the MP3 feature, which i have not used yet. It does take a little bit to figure out how to load waypoints but I downloaded the utility from the Lowrance website and it take the GSX files and converts them.

Driving and hiking around looking for plastic containers filled with toys.
