Missing Lines of resolution on Garmin GPS III+
Anyone else have lines of resolution or lines of pixels on their GPS that no longer display? I have some lines that appear to be permanently gone and a few others that come and go as they please. Really starting to get irritating as one of the lines is where the “speed” is displayed while driving and is such that you can’t tell “50 from “60”. Anyone know of a DIY way to fix it? I’m not paying Garmin another $150 to “fix” it. Last time I sent my GPS to them they sent it back saying there was nothing wrong with it but still charged me $150! Paying again would be more $$ on repairs than replacement cost. |

I've had no complaints with the display on my III+. A couple years back I was having some problems keeping it powered while bicycling on chip-sealed rural roads (a.k.a. "shake & bake"). I suppose electronic equipment and severe prolonged vibrations don't mix.
Regarding the display issue, I suppose I'd live with it. Set asside the $150 you'd ordinarily pay for a diagnosis from Garmin as seed money toward a new unit. |
